Flint has a pretty tough reputation.  Terms like "Murder Capital USA" and "One of the 10 Worst Places to Live in America" are not uncommon.  We're like Detroit, but without being featured in an Eminem Chrysler commercial.  You'd expect such a city to be a tough place to work.  And it is.  Here's my list of the toughest jobs in Flint:

1)      Democratic politicians who don’t toe the damn line! Just ask Chairman of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, Jaime Curtis.   The former General Motors millwright and UAW Committeeman ran into a bit of trouble when he announced his support for fellow Genesee County Commissioner, Patrick "Shorty" Gleason (retired president of the Michigan Building Trades Council and former president of Iron Workers Local 25) for the 48th District State House race, over the objection of the UAW.

2)      Flint police officer.  Under the 2012-2013 budget proposed by Flint's Emergency Financial Manager, the nation's 10th most violent city will be reduced to 109 sworn officers.  "Back Up???"  Speaking of...

3)      Emergency financial manager.  From his proposed 2012-2013 budget: "The challenge is great — financial insolvency; a population base reduced by 50%; declining property values; high numbers of vacant houses and persons in poverty, crumbling infrastructure, and high crime...The current level of expenses for city services significantly exceeds the current amount of revenues which will be received, and choices for new revenues are limited."  Hope he took Dale Carnegie...

4)      Thong salesman. I will let a graph do the talking on this one:

5)      Republican politician. This is hypothetical.  Many believe that if there were any Republican politicians in Flint, this could well be the toughest job of all.
