A Flint woman who killed her child's father by running him over has been sentenced to 15-30 years in prison.

According to MLive, Ladora Chantell Snell was sentenced Tuesday after having been convicted by a jury of second-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Mack Hill Parrish during an argument.

Prosecutors had argued that Snell and Parrish had been arguing when Snell got into her car, directed the vehicle at Parrish and then accelerated. She paused after initially striking Parrish before continuing to run him over. Snell then went inside the home, got her child, and left the scene. Parrish was hospitalized before dying days later. Snell reportedly called several people after the incident but never called 911. Snell later turned herself in. Her attorney claims Snell was acting in self-defense at the time of the killing and plans to appeal.
