The township is looking redevelop the land, possibly with a water park or go-kart track.

Last night, a public hearing was held for residents to voice their opinions on whether or not Flint Township should apply for a grant of $1.6 million to acquire the abandoned Pirate's Park on Miller Road.

Some residents are concerned that this isn't the way money should be spent right now, and that the township wouldn't have enough to complete the project, even if they got the grant.

Other residents said that people are constantly looking for something to do in the area, so it might be a good idea.

A Planet Extreme trampoline park is slated to open in the area soon; the Sandbox Virtual Reality Arcade opened up near Outback last fall. So it looks like the area is already building itself up - what would you like to see happen to Pirate's Park?
