Flint Sees Slight Decline in Arsons in 2011

In 2010, Flint firefighters responded to nearly 500 suspected arsons. In 2011, that number dropped. Firefighters responded to 362 fires at vacant or abandoned structures. All fires at vacant or abandoned buildings are typically considered arson.

According to Mlive, Battalion Chief Andy Graves said 2011 was the second worse year in recent department history, only behind 2010.
