Flint residents interested in fighting crime in their neighborhoods are asked to attend the Blue Badge Citizens Radio Patrol event hosted by the Flint Police Department. At the event, residents will be taught to patrol, report crime and complete paperwork, as well as learn radio protocol so they can help be additional "eyes and ears" for the Flint Police Department. The event is part of the Blue Badge Volunteers program which is comprised of neighborhood associations, crime watch groups and individuals to help supplement police in the fight against crime.

The event is Saturday, September 27th from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Flint Public Library located at 1026 E. Kearsley Street. Refreshments are provided. To RSVP or for more information, contact Flint Police Officer Tanya Meeks at (810) 237-6926 or tmeeks@cityofflint.com.
