Flint Funeral Home Shut Down After Disturbing Allegations
Swanson Funeral Home has been shut down, with their license removed after some disturbing things were found inside.
WNEM is reporting that investigators found multiple violations inside Swanson Funeral Home including maggots on the floor of the facilities garage, refrigerated bodies, and unsanitary preparation room, among other violations.
The funeral home could be fined up to $10,000 for each violation. The mortuary license for Swanson Funeral Home and the manager, O'Neil Swanson have been suspended.
This is not the first time they have been under investigation. They had a compliant in May of this year that when a family showed up to pay respects, the wrong person was in the casket. Back in 2016 they had multiple complaints of negligence, and an inability to serve the public.
If you have any questions about the closure of the funeral home, you can call 517-241-7000.
