The announcement was made this afternoon at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center.

Coach Ryan Oulahen is stepping down from the Firebirds, due to personal reasons.

Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Greg stefan will be taking his place in the interim; he’s already the goalie coach for the team.

The team’s general manager, Barclay Branch, specified that the decision was made by Oulahen alone and not the team.

It was Oulahen’s third season with the team. The Firebirds play the North Bay Battallion tonight for 810-Night and tomorrow night for First Responders night.
