Flint Emergency Financial Manager Ed Kurtz has announced he will be stepping down.

According to WNEM, Kurtz formally submitted his resignation on Wednesday and will leave 30 days from then.

The announcement comes just a week after Kurtz released the city's Fiscal Year 2014 budget, one that didn't include any cuts to police or fire, but also acknowledged the deficit problems the city still has to face.

There is no word yet on who will take his place.
