The back and forth between Flint City Council and Mayor Karen Weaver over which company would handle the city's waste removal ended on Monday night.

According to WNEM, the city council denied Weaver's recent veto. The council had approved the hiring of Republic to handle waste removal, but Weaver had claimed her choice for the job was cheaper.

The company Weaver wanted was questioned due to it being based in Detroit, being non-union and having ties to former Mayor Woodrow Stanley.
