Some Flint City Council members are pushing to remove the state appointed emergency manager, Darnell Earley. According to MLive, they and Pastor David Bullock of Detroit's Change Agent Consortium, spoke to a group of residents on Monday night in an effort to drum up support for the removal of Earley. Among the council members in attendance were Eric Mays, Wantwaz Davis, Jackie Poplar and Sheldon Neeley who says the support to remove Earley is there, but questions when the clock began. Michigan's emergency manager law gives city council the option to remove the position after 18 months on the job. Flint has had three emergency managers since November 2011 and Earley's 18 month appointment is would be over in April 2015.
