Peter Bade, attorney for the City of Flint, has resigned.

The city made the announcement on Thursday night. In a statement, city administrator Natasha Henderson said "Mr. Bade and his team have managed to provide professional legal services over the past 5 years within the budget constraints of the City, ending the past five years under budget and realizing a tremendous decrease in settlement and judgement, which is an incredible accomplishment." Henderson continued that Bade's "leadership skills and historical knowledge as an attorney in the City of Flint will definitely leave a void."

Bade's resignation goes into effect on January 1, 2016. According to ABC 12, Bade has taken a job at Hurley Medical Center's Office of General Counsel.
