Now that summer is finally here we can enjoy our great state parks for free this weekend. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is offering free admission to all state parks this weekend (June 9th and 10th) as well as free fishing without a license, and free off-road riding without a permit.

The free fees only apply to June 9th and 10th in Michigan, and some activities inside state parks will still have fees that apply. According to ABC12, the DNR offers free weekends in Michigan twice each year. Once in the summer and once in the winter.

This is a great way to experience some great activities in our state for free. There are state parks all over our state, an outdoor adventure area in Detroit, you can fish the Trout Trails, or maybe take an off-road ride on one of our many state trails. You can see the full list of places to visit here.
