The Fire & Ice Festival will be returning to downtown Flint for its second year next weekend.

According to MLive, Gerard Burnash, executive director of the Flint Downtown Development Authority says "it's the time of year where we're kind of down after New Year's. That's why the festival is scheduled for late February as a way to bring some excitement back to winter."

This years festival is teaming with the Crim Fitness Foundation which is putting on the Run Your Ice Off 5K run. Other events going on during the festival include ice carvers, fire dancers, a chili cook-off and more.

The festival will take place on Saturday, February 22 from noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Flint on Saginaw Street.
