The goal of this 2-part training is to provide information on how the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the incidence and fear of crime and an improvement in the quality of life.

The class is intended for all Flint residents interested in fighting crime and disorder in their neighborhood.

Objectives of the workshop include:

  • Discussing the theory and concepts behind Crime Prevention through Environmental Design and how to apply these concepts to your home, business and community.
  • List and define the 4 CPTED principles.
  • Hands-on application security survey
  • Discuss how you can work with others to apply CPTED

There is no cost to attend this training. The class is made possible by a grant from the CS Mott Foundation and is offered in partnership with the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University.
