Beating the Odds Employment Workshop

Genesee County Commissioner Omar A. Sims, Career Alliance, New Paths, GCCARD and Genesee County Community Corrections are hosting a Beating the Odds Employment Workshop for unemployed previously incarcerated individuals. The workshop will occur from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at GCCARD conference room located 601 N. Saginaw Street in Flint.

The workshop is specifically designed to address the employment issues faced by individuals with past criminal records. Participants will receive information regarding obtaining employment opportunities under a state initiative to address chronic unemployment. No one in attendance will be arrested. Light refreshments will be provided. Commissioner Sims stated “now that your debt to society has been paid, it’s time for a fresh start.”
