Flint's Emergency Financial Manager Michael Brown issued orders three through six yesterday afternoon.

In what could be his biggest decisions since being appointed emergency manager by Governor Snyder just last week, Brown axed the ombudsman's office and the civil service commission. Brown had already terminated Ombudswoman Brenda Purifoy and Civil Service Director Edward Parker last week as part of his first order terminating seven city employees. The remaining staffers in their offices have now been let go as well. Those moves are expected to save the city just over $500,000 a year.

Brown also made decisions regarding purchases by the city for less then $10,000 and established procedures for submissions of resolutions of ordinances.
