Eat Your Way Through The Mi Food, Beer, & Wine Fest This Weekend
The Michigan Food, Beer, & Wine Festival is returning to Dort Event Center this Saturday, and I want to talk about the food. We have a ton of great Michigan beers and wines available to sample, but after all those samples you are going to need some food. You get 5 food sample tickets with your ticket this year, and that will score you one sample from each food vendor at the event.
Tasty Layers will be back this year with so many delicious treats. They will have their delicious chocolate covered bacon again this year, and they are trying out a couple of new items.
I personally can’t wait to get my hands on those ganache bombs.
Smokin’ Aces BBQ also returns this year with a few great sample items. Brandon and the crew are bringing cornbread sliders this year that are totally worth the mess they make. They also have brisket chili this year, and of course, they are bringing the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers.
New to Mi Food, Beer, & Wine Fest this year are the BBQ Guys. They come from North Branch but will cater just about anywhere. If you joined us for Burgers & Brews this year, the BBQ guys brought the Porkenstein Burger, and it took second place! The BBQ Guys are bringing that award-winning burger to Mi Food, Beer, & Wine Fest this year, along with some other yummies.
Also new this year is YaEatYet? They are a food truck from Lapeer that specializes in Cuban sandwiches, but also have items including pretzel bun burgers, chili, pulled pork sandwiches, and hotdogs.YaEatYet? is new tot he food truck world, opening in 2017.
If you are looking for some Mexican food to soak up a few samples, Poco Loco has you covered. Poco Loco is located at the corner of Center and Atherton in Burton, and if your home or office is close to them the will deliver! They also have a drive-thru at their location, so you can get real Mexican food, quickly. Poco Loco will be serving up samples of the fajitas and other authentic Mexican cuisine.
Tickets for the Michigan Food, Beer, & Wine Festival are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and include 10 drink sample tickets, 5 food sample tickets, and a commemorative glass. While inside the festival you will find beer and wine samples from Michigan, lawn games in the park-like setting, and live entertainment from Russell Wayne.
