The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce E3 Innovation Network (E3IN) has been recognized as a "best practice" by the Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) program, based in the San Fransisco Chamber of Commerce. Janice Karcher, Vice President of Economic Development for the Regional Chamber shared the achievements of E3IN during a CICE conference call last Thursday.

Karcher joined national and international thought leaders on a panel to share clean energy innovation and economic development opportunities with close to 150 chambers from across the nation as part of the CICE Chamber briefing, Clean Energy: The Next Economic Development Solution.

According to Tim Herman, CEO of the Regional Chamber, the creation of E3IN put Flint and Genesee County at the forefront of green economic development and growth. The new affiliation with CICE provides positive visibility and a national resource for the region.

"Collaborating with Chambers from around the county to broaden our leadership in clean energy innovation is a good thing for Flint and Genesee County," said Herman. "The strategic regional activities of E3IN will be strengthened by the Regional Chamber's participation in CICE's new clean energy information."

CICE is a network of local chambers of commerce from across the nation, representing tens of thousands of businesses of every size, from a variety of industries. The Regional Chamber benefits from access to information, tools and best practices designed to foster clean economic growth through CICE.

"We are thrilled to work with like-minded chambers to leverage their knowledge and resources to help businesses in the region connect to clean energy innovations and job growth," said Karcher. "Affiliation with CICE will definitely bring value to our clean economy efforts."
