Now that Thanksgiving has passed, we are officially in the Christmas season. Christmas trees have popped up everywhere, malls and radio stations (including us) are playing Christmas music, and pictures with Santa are on every families to-do-list. Downtown Flint is getting into the spirit of the holidays this week with a tree lighting on Thursday, November 30th. Uptown Reinvestment Corporation is putting on the tree lighting event near the intersection of Saginaw Street and Second Street on Thursday.

Begining at 5 pm there will be yard games, holiday music, and reindeer to pet. You can also check out some local food and drink vendors. The tree will be lit at 5:59 pm on Thursday.

This Saturday, December 2nd Santa will be at the Flint Farmers' Market taking notes for Christmas lists. You can visit him from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
