Cuts to Flint's Mass Transportation Authority begin today (6/23). According to WNEM, the cuts include changes to both daytime and evening riders. Mondays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the daytime bus routes will only run one bus per route, instead of the two they do now. Evening services for regular routes will end at 6:30 p.m. as opposed to the current 9:30 p.m. Late riders can still sign up for a prearranged ride service called "Your Ride." The MTA will also be cutting seven staff positions. All of these cuts stem from this year's brutal winter. The MTA hopes to restore the daytime and evening service later this year.
