At a news conference on Thursday, Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced they are increasing the reward for a 17-year-old cold case. 88-year-old Mary Prieur was found beaten and suffocated in a swampy, wooden area near Lennon Road and M-13, approximately 150 yards from her home on February 27, 1997. Crime Stoppers said the reward for information will be raised to $2,500. A billboard with Mary's picture on it has gone up on M-21 and on Thursday, 300 door hangers were passed out in Lennon. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
