The number of crashes related to a faulty ignition in certain GM vehicles has risen to 47, up from previous reports of 32.

According to WNEM, GM said the number of deaths related to the problem remains at 13, but officials at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration believe the number may be higher.

GM has recalled 2.6 million vehicles around the world due to the ignition switch problem and was fined a record $35 million by the NHTSA due to the delayed recall.
