For the 10th consecutive year, consumers have chosen Genesys as one of the nation's top hospitals for overall quality, best doctors, best nurses, and best image and reputation.

National Research Corporation (NRC), the leader in health care performance measurement and improvement, announced the country's 2011/2012 Consumer Choice Award winners - the hospitals chosen by local consumers for providing the highest quality services.

Only 250 health systems in the US were chosen for this award. In Michigan, a
total of 11 were named, and in the region Genesys was the only hospital to
receive this award.

According to Susan Hendricks, president and CEO at NRC, "the Consumer Choice Award provides a benchmark for consumers to show how important quality health care is to them and their families.

"Consumers are taking a more proactive role in their health care decisions and demanding higher quality. Consumer perception is becoming more and more vital to the success of all hospitals," she reports. "This award recognizes those facilities that are meeting or exceeding the needs of consumers - their patients."

NRC's Ticker studyis known as the nation's largest and most comprehensive assessment of the health care industry. No other study measures hospital performance and preferences, and contains more consumer responses than NRC's study.
