The Flint School District will be hosting a series of community forums next week to discuss their budget process.

According to Mlive, the five forums are scheduled to gather community feedback and ideas as they struggle to shed a $3.7  million deficit. Superintendent Linda Thompson has said that the upcoming cuts will most likely lneed even more school closures then originally thought.

Just last month the district submitted its state-mandated deficit elimination plan which outlines how large its cuts will be in order to come out of the deficit.  Suggested cuts within the plan include closing Northern, the districts two middle schools and opening and operating a city-wide middle school in Northern’s building.

A complete list of days, times, and locations of the forums can be found here.
