Cleanup of the pile of rubble that was once the Genesee Towers is expected to be finished soon.

According to ABC 12, the work should be completed in a few weeks. Project Manager Dave Lurvey said about 90 percent of the rubble has been hauled away to the Brent Run Landfill in Montrose Township. Upon completion about 30,000 pounds of rubble will have been removed.

The 19-story Genesee Towers was built in the 1960s and was imploded in December last year. After all the rubble is cleared, fill will be brought in and a park will be built at the site. It's expected to be completed by this fall.
