The City of Flint is informing the public about their options for the removal of trees, limbs and branches from their yards. Due to this year's severe winter weather, there are still many limbs and branches that need to be removed throughout the city. Due to this, the City of Flint has partnered with two area businesses to offer wood disposal for residents at no cost.

Great Lakes Tree Experts on Jennings Road in Flint will allow free drop offs of logs, stumps, and large limbs for recycling on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon until 5 p.m. Drops off are also available at Country Oaks Landscape Supply located at 3218 E. Atherton Road in Burton on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Regular weekly brush pickups also take place in the city in conjunction with normal garbage day pickup. Residents are asked to bundle sticks less than two inches thick and less than four feet long with rope or twine and set them at the curb. In addition, between May 19 and May 23 there will be unlimited bundled brush and lawn debris pickup as part of the Love Your City campaign.

For trees and large limbs that are in the public right of way, between the street and sidewalk, City of Flint street crews are being deployed in neighborhoods to perform wood chipping and removal of the debris. Residents are asked to report these incidences to the City of Flint Street Maintenance Department by calling (810) 766-7343.
