The Flint City Council is expected to take up the proposed water pipeline deal when they meet today.

According to NBC 25, the finance committee met last week to discuss several issues including how many gallons of water to purchase daily. Council members must decide whether to join the Karegnondi Water Authority which would mean the city would no longer purchase water from Detroit.

Council President Scott Kincaid told NBC 25 they wanted to "study the deal thoroughly before entering into a 25-year contract."
