Davison Road Business Owners Look to Establish Business District

A group of business owners, along with Flint Mayor Dayne Walling and a police captain, met on Thursday to discuss the establishment of a Davison Road business district in hopes of making that area safer for residents, employees and customers.

City of Flint to Add 6 Police Officers from Federal Grant Funds

The city of Flint will be adding six police officers to the force as a result of a $1.2 million federal grant. Flint Mayor Dayne Walling announced the news yesterday afternoon on Twitter.

Gleason, Ananich Hear from Parents on Education Cuts at Townhall

State Senator John Gleason and State Representative Jim Ananich held a town hall meeting last night which focused on the current state of education. The event was attended by other local leaders including Genesee Intermediate School District Superintendent Lisa Hagel and Assistant Secretary Treasurer for Flint Schools Isaiah Oliver. Concerned parents were also on hand to voice their concerns over school funding and issues in the classroom.

Flint Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Girl’s Abduction

Flint Police have released a sketch of a person suspected of abducting a 12-13 year-old girl early Wednesday. Police said the girl was walking to school just after 6:30 a.m. near University and Cottage Grove, when a man in a black truck came up and forced her into the vehicle.
