Early this morning (12/29/17) the Genesee County Water Treatment Plant had a computer malfunction that resulted in a drop in water pressure. When there is a loss of water pressure in the system, bacteria contamination can occur. Davison Township and Burton residents are the only ones affected. The staff at the Genesee County Water Treatment plant said in a press release that they are working with a computer programming company to make the needed software updates and repairs.

If you live in Davison Township or Burton and have city water, boil the water for one minute then let it cool before using it. You can also use bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or giving pets. The water will be monitored for 24 hours before being deemed safe for consumption.
