The company is looking for hundreds of entry level workers to man the floor of the massive warehouse.  Amazon has posted for the positions on their hiring site here, and describe the warehouse jobs as:

people who thrive in a fast-moving environment, don't mind working with and around moving mechanical parts, and are okay with a little noise

There are a few requirements that you should know about before applying for the jobs.

  • Must be 18 and a High School graduate
  • Read and take dictation in English
  • Willing to work all shifts, including overtime
  • Willing to relocate
  • Must lift over 49lbs and have no physical restrictions

You can apply online, and Michigan Works! is offering some training courses that will help you with the application process.  The time, dates and locations are listed here.

The process won't be simple, but the rewards are there.  Once hired, employees get discounts, 401K, Health Insurance, and holiday/overtime pay.
