Gas prices in Michigan have gone up five cents in the past week according to AAA Michigan. The current statewide average is about $1.66 per gallon.

Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel prices, the lowest average prices can be found in the Metro Detroit area where it's about $1.62 per gallon. The highest averages can be found on the Lansing/East Lansing area where it's about $1.62 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were averaging slightly more than the statewide average on Sunday at $1.67 per gallon.

AAA says drivers are continuing to benefit from the lowest prices at the pump since 2009, largely due to crude oil supply outpacing demand and barring any disruptions in supply, retail prices should remain relatively low.
