AAA Michigan says gas prices across the state have ticked up two cents in the past week. Michigan's current statewide average is about $1.55 per gallon.

Of the ten Michigan metro areas surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average price can be found in the Jackson area where it's about $1.52 per gallon. The highest average price can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $1.58 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area were on the higher side as of Sunday with averages of $1.57 per gallon.

AAA says Michigan placed fourth in the nation for largest monthly decline in gas prices and that global oil prices continue to swing due to speculations about future supply and demand, but on the whole the market remains depressed in comparison to previous years.
