AAA Michigan: Statewide Gas Prices Increase Seven Cents

The statewide average weekly gas price has increased about seven cents from last week, AAA Michigan reports. This follows four consecutive weeks of statewide average weekly gas price decreases. The current statewide average is about $2.34 a gallon.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA, the lowest prices for self-serve unleaded fuel can be found in the Marquette area, where it's about $2.24 per gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Ann Arbor area where it's about $2.37 per gallon. Prices in and around Flint are averaging $2.30 per gallon.

AAA says barring any major disruptions in supply, pump prices are expected to remain under downward pressure and should continue to move lower as we enter the fall and winter months.
