The average weekly gas price dropped about one cent from last week according to AAA Michigan. The current statewide average is about $2.71 per gallon, about $1.23 less than this same time last year.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA, the cheapest prices for self-serve unleaded fuel can be found in the Lansing/East Lansing area, where it's about $2.61 a gallon. The Metro Detroit and Traverse City areas are tied for the highest gas prices in the state with averages around $2.77 per gallon. AS of Sunday, gas prices in and around the Flint area were around $2.64 a gallon.

AAA says gas prices in Michigan will likely be impacted in the coming weeks as a refinery in Toledo is expected to be offline for two-to-three weeks while some equipment is being replaced.
