After two weeks of decreases, AAA Michigan says the statewide average weekly gas price has increased slightly. Michigan's current statewide average is $2.35 per gallon, up one cent from last week.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average prices can be found in the Marquette area where it's about $2.29 a gallon. The highest averages can be found in the Ann Arbor and Jackson areas, where it's about $2.38 per gallon. As of Sunday, gas prices in and around the Flint area were averaging $2.36 per gallon.

AAA says retail averages in the region previously moved higher due to supply challenges associated with seasonal refinery maintenance that caused refineries to post their lowest output totals in years.
