AAA Michigan: Gas Prices Fall 14 Cents

Gas prices dropped for the fourth week in a row according to AAA Michigan. The current statewide average is $3.49 per gallon, down 14 cents from last week.

Gas prices in and around the Flint area are slightly less than the statewide average with prices right around $3.45 per gallon, down almost 20 cents from last week. AAA says the cheapest prices for self-serve, unleaded fuel can be found in the Lansing-East Lansing area where it's about $3.39 per gallon. The highest average is in the Marquette area at about $3.68 per gallon. AAA attributes the falling prices to abundant refinery production and domestic refinery utilization which reached its highest level of the year last week and helped push gas prices lower.
