AAA Michigan reports that gas prices have dropped 13 cents. The current statewide average is about $2.87 per gallon, down from about $3 last week and about 42 cents than last year at this time. According to AAA Michigan, statewide pre-Thanksgiving gas prices have not been this low since 2009 when the price for gas was about $2.62 per gallon.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA, the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel can be found in the Benton Harbor area where it's about $2.78 per gallon. The highest average is in the Marquette area where it's about $2.95 per gallon. Gas prices in and around the Flint area are among the lowest in the state with $2.80 averages as of Sunday.
