AAA Michigan: Gas Prices Down Slightly After Four Weeks of Increases

After four weeks of increases, state motorists will find the average price of gas has dropped slightly according to AAA Michigan. The current statewide average is just over $3.86 per gallon.

Gas prices in and around Flint have dropped almost 16 cents in the past week, with the average price of gas now hovering around $3.82 per gallon. Of the cities surveyed, the cheapest gas prices can be found in the Grand Rapids/Muskegon/Holland area. The highest average can be found in the Detroit area.

According to AAA, this week's fuel factors include a decline this month with the national average falling the previous three years at an average of 20 cents per gallon. However, the recent turmoil in Iraq could prevent that from happening again this year.
