And now for something completely ridiculous.

Oakland University made the Little League-like play of allowing three runs to score on one wild pitch during its Horizon League conference tournament baseball game against the University of Illinois-Chicago this week. The teams were knotted at 6 in the 4th inning when the Golden Grizzlies did their impression of the '62 Mets. The bases were loaded when the wild pitch took place, setting off an ugly chain reaction that enabled all the runners to cross home plate.

Those runs proved critical -- UIC held on for a 10-9 win.

Give credit to the baserunners for continuing to hustle. It's a lesson they may have picked up while watching the University of Florida softball team, who redefined being heads-up while playing Central Florida last week.
